A day or weekend trip to any of the following places promises to be a wonderful and romantic experience. Portland and the surrounding areas are beautiful and a great backdrop to any romantic getaway.
Cannon Beach - Hiking through Ecola Park or walking hand in hand on the beach is a lovely way to spend the day.
Forest Park - Enjoy a hike in urban Portland but feel like you're miles and miles away from buildings or cars and sometimes even other people. 5 minutes from downtown Portland, heaven awaits.
Eagle Creek - *five dollar car pass required. A stunning drive into the gorge and a jawdroppingly stunning hike. Go for an hour or many hours deep into the canyon. End the day day with a pizza and beer across the Bridge of the Gods at the Walking Man Brewery.
Multnomah Falls - Just about 15 minutes from Portland, a Portland icon, the massive Multnomah Falls await you. Drink cider and stand below the fall or take a near vertical hike to the very top. Great views. Go early as parking can be a bear.
Bridal Veil - Another famous Portland area waterfall that cannot be missed.
Japanese Garden - Beautiful traditional garden overlooking downtown Portland. *inexpensive and sometimes 2 for 1 coupons are found online or in the Chinook Book
Chinese Garden - A traditional Chinese garden found in urban Old/Town Chinatown. *inexpensive and sometimes 2 for 1 coupons are found online or in the Chinook Book
Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden - A gorgeous park with ducks and squirrels you can feed by hand. *admission is free in February
