What weather we have had this last week! Spring is upon us, no matter what that groundhog said! The winter Daphne, Rhododendron and even my roses with new, sweet little buds will attest to our soon to be change of season. Can't wait!
Went on a fabulous hike to Forest Park (Upper Macleay) last weekend. It had been too long since I'd been there and it was a fantastic, soul refreshing hour. If you've never hiked any part of Forest Park, especially Upper and Lower Macleay, you are absolutely missing out! Learn more about
Forest Park, including maps and neighborhood information.

Featured Portland Events
This winter event held February 5th and 6th, 2010 is a celebration of all things Oregon, but most specifically our wonderful Oregon seafood and wines.
Scheduled in the quiet of winter, and smack dab in the middle of the Dungeness Crab season, it promises to be a popular event in Portland, the gateway to the Oregon coast and the Oregon wine country. The event will be a very upscale yet festive event at the Oregon Convention Center, promising a climate-controlled facility with lots of on-site and surrounding parking. Over 98,000 square feet of exhibit space will allow for lots of room to wander the event while stopping to sit and enjoy the good food, drink and live music throughout the event.
SAMSONSM: The Colossal T. rex Discovery | Now on exhibit through Sept. 6, 2010
A magnificent 40-foot fossil of one of Earth's most fearsome carnivores is now on display in the Earth Science Hall. The 66-million-year-old skeleton known as SAMSON* is one of the most complete Tyrannosaurus rex skeletons in existence. 56% of SAMSON's original bones, including the nearly complete skull, is on display. SAMSON is smaller but close in length to the T. rex known as Sue, the largest T. rex yet discovered.
History
Mike Zimmershied discovered SAMSON in 1987 on his father's ranch south of Buffalo, South Dakota. The site was fully excavated in 1992. SAMSON, which was recently sold to a private buyer through Bonhams & Butterfields Natural History Department, is on loan to OMSI through a private donor and with the support of local supporting sponsors Comcast, the Science Channel, and Discovery Education. SAMSON is on display through summer 2010.

Humboldt Neighborhood Report
By Ross Seligman
Portland's Humboldt neighborhood is bordered by Overlook, Piedmont, King and
Boise neighborhoods. The Humboldt neighborhood is also extremely close to the
Max line on the other side of Interstate and is well connected to many bus
routes. Bicycle commuting to downtown and beyond is easy and convenient thanks
to a bike lanes which are seemingly on every street. For more information on Humboldt, click here: http://www.portlandneighborhood.com/humboldt.html
In my monthly Portland real estate report, I always talk about how each individual neighborhood is a micro-market. If you are looking to buy or sell in a particular neighborhood, the most crucial information that you need to know is what is going on in that neighborhood. In this situation, the overall Portland market report is less important and the national real estate report is just about useless. This posting is a real estate report for the Humboldt neighborhood of all homes in all price ranges. Feel free to request particular neighborhoods in which you are interested in buying or selling and I am be happy to do a report, just contact me on this forum or at: http://www.propertiesofportland.com.
If you are looking for homes in Humboldt, visit this link where you can search for homes by particular neighborhood.
The first thing you will notice about individual neighborhoods as compared to the overall Portland reports are that the numbers can be wildly different month to month. Basically, the bigger the pool of data you are working with, the smoother the stats become. As we focus on smaller areas, many different things can happen month to month.
