Last Chance to See Migrating Vaux's Swifts this Year!

Ok, I am kind of bummed it is already fall, but fall brings some wonderful things: like the migrating Vaux's swifts birds to the Chapman School chimney, and a handful of other locations in Portland (maybe even your own chimney!). Most other applications I've made have been via website and email, a process I find much more stressful than face-to-face interviews (for… Continue

Smashing Pumpkins

Wow! Five days in a row at MusicFest NW and we couldn't have had more fun. We saw/heard some amazing bands and had a great time. My favorite concert was Smashing Pumpkins who played at the intimate Wonder Ballroom (pretty much walking distance from my house, something I never imagined). If you missed MusicFestNW you can catch it again next year, it seems to get bigger and better each…

I've been working for several years as a server (as well as some bartending) in a locally owned booming restaurant business in Lexington, KY. I get the feeling from some posts that job hunting in Portland is significantly more difficult than where I currently live, but I wonder if that… Continue

In my taxi I really got a feel for Portland, it's great food, music, arts, attractions and the people who live here and make it such an amazing city. My… Continue
