Yeah, Another Bike Thingy, And Your Point Is?

I have a confession to make: until just recently I haven't been on my bicycle much the past year.

When I was a kid growing up in New Mexico and Texas, I used to see images on television and the movies of these idyllic tree-lined avenues they always showed to denote peaceful American middle-class living.

Not that neither Roswell nor Abilene have trees, of course, but these glowing visions…

Amuse Yourself

I'm reading Chelsea Cain's The Night Season, her fourth novel featuring Portland Police Detective Archie Sheridan and his nemesis, the seductive and vicious serial killer Gretchen Lowell (the fifth in the series, Kill You Twice, has just been released ohmygaw!)

I love this series, not the least because Portland itself could easily be included in the cast of characters.  Cain rarely mentions a facet of the city without lingering for a bit, allowing her…
