Tough week.

Usually I'd be extoling the virtues of our fair and fairly odd city here, cracking wise and trying to impart my own perspective of what it's like to live here.  This week, though, my mind is elsewhere.

There's a downside to having my desk facing a window. Today I just want to be outside.

I just craned my neck to bring the surface of the parking lot into view, because it may be raining but I can't tell for sure. Yup, pavement is wet, so we're having some of that patented invisible Willamette Valley rain, a rain you can't see unless you peer intently at a dark surface some distance away. If I were to step outside right now, to stand in the wet, I would just barely feel it.…
