Portland Blog: This Week in Portland February 28 - March 7

Dearest Portland,

If you're reading this, you somehow survived Mardis Gras! Fat Tuesday, for me, went largely unnoticed (ok, completely unnoticed) as I was in bed at 9pm, long before many of you donned your beads and crowns... I've been battling the Portland Plague which has done nothing but zapped my energy and turned me into a total zombie. At least I don't have the nagging-deep-lung-cough or the nose-faucet which is, in a word, awesome. I thank L-Lysine and and lots of hand… Continue

Good Neighborhood

Hello! My name is Meredith. My boyfriend and I are looking to relocate to Portland in about a year. We're both in our late 20's; artistic type people. Currently we live in Minneapolis. I wanted to do some research of the area now. I like being prepared... :)
What are some good areas to live in? aka- reasonable and nice. When the time comes to move- I want to be able to have a decent grasp of the area. Thanks for your time and input!

cheers,

m

Can anyone help us find Tony?

We've been looking so hard for so long, that I'm getting desprate now! My brother is still missing and I need to give him the news that my father passed. My wife posted a story on Katu.com's you news, and this is our story:

Portland Blog: This Week in Portland February 21 - 28

Dearest Portland,

Spring Saturday morning ritual: wake up, feed dogs (if that could be done in reverse order, say, feed dogs then wake up, my dogs would be happier and less annoying!), make coffee, write the Saturday morning Portland blog and take a long awesome bike ride. It is officially spring in about a month-- but I feel like ordaining it so this morning! This has been a strange, beautiful winter in Portland. We've had more sunny days than I can wrap my mind… Continue

Coraline Review and Behind the Scenes Video Clips

I went and saw the film Coraline yesterday, and wanted to share my Coraline review with other Portlanders. Coraline is a stop-motion animation film made in 3D, produced by Portland's Laika animation house. It opened the Portland International Film Festival this week. If you want a one-sentence description of the film, I would sum this movie up as: "imaginative, surreal, magical, eerie, spooky, fantastical, funny, and delightful." It was one of those rare… Continue
