Portland Blog- This Week in Portland January 23 - January 30

This will sound crazy, but I am feeling spring in the air! It could be the sunny days or the fact that I spotted some rhodies in bloom on a recent bike ride...or the teeny little sprouts of life I am seeing shoot up from the ground. Hello, Daffodil! Any way you look at it, we're on the upside of winter and heading into Portland in the spring. Yes!

I wanted to share an awesome video I found by Travel Portland. Portland is such a stunning city, seriously. I was pretty blown away by how… Continue

Sunshine on my shoulder

Just got back inside after spending several hours down in the gardens puttering about. Trimming grapes, cleaning up leaves and weeds and old plants and just being outside. I do believe I might have gotten some sun on my nose!
Anyone else able to get outside and enjoy this fantastic sunny warm day? Oh and I'm pretty sure that was a bald eagle and his/her mate up in the trees way over yonder.
Great day!!

Portland Blog- This Week in Portland January 16 - January 23

A few days ago, I was asked to help some visitors with a "list of things to do INSIDE in Portland". Ha! A little too wet for ya? As a long time Portlander, I have no problem biking, running, walking, you-name-it in the rain but I can see where non-locals wouldn't want to spend their whole vacation wet. So, this shall be the start of my "How to have fun inside in Portland" list:

First Sign of Spring

I went for a walk this afternoon, through the English Meadow, down to the veggie gardens and back up past the new landscaping being done by apartment 210. It was sunny when I started, but the sky soon clouded over and the wind picked up, and by the time I got back to my office I was wishing I had worn my flannel-lined jeans...

Portland Blog - This Week in Portland January 9-16, 2010 - Portland Events & More

Hello, Portlanders! I hope you've started this year off with high hopes for another great year. I read all of the messages posted on the forum about people moving to Portland or wanting to move here, and it reminds me how moving to a new place can be filled with anticipation and hopes for positive change in our lives. People move to new cities for lots of reasons, but moving to Portland certainly seems a big goal for many this year, in spite of our rather poor economy making it hard to find… Continue
