About Me:
Mid-40something, over-educated, don't-know-what-I-want-to-be-when-I-grow-up kinda of guy. PhD in engineering from top school, sworn off corporate America for all the obvious reasons. Vegetarian. Looking to restart my life in a new state, new town, new neighborhood, new house! Dogs, meditation, and piano fill my time.
What do you love about Portland?
Discovered I am Portland without knowing it all these years! Kick-back friendly, organic, Earth/higher consciousness, foodie/beer kind of town. Since I was a child I have always loved misty rain--makes me feel like a plant being cleansed and nourished.
My music:
New Age, New Age piano, classical, opera (laaaaaa!)
What's your favorite Portland neighborhood and why?
This is where I need everyone's help! I've visited Portland for a week in January and explored the Alberta Arts, Irvington, Alameda, Grant Park, Rose City, Hollywood, Laurelhurst, Beaumont, Sunnyside, North Mt. Tabor (kind of misnamed, isn't it?), Richmond, "Hawethorn" neighborhoods. I'm trying to decide in which neighborhood to land. Strongly inclined to buy a house, given the fact I have three rather large dogs and renting might be difficult. (And I don't know that I really *want* to rent!)

Portland Planetary Dance at Kelley Point Park
