Where do I begin? First, Portland has a great multimedia scene, I am happy to be a part of that. I love the food, the art scene, the DIY music scene, the Trailblazers, the beer and yes even the rain sometimes. I love the fun spirit and energy of the creative people here. I like being near the ocean, the mountains, the high desert and a decent airport.

Get Busy, Dude!

I have been slacking on my blog lately. It is not because I have nothing to write about or nothing cool to show you. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Since the day I really discovered blogging and other social networks at WebVisions 2008 , I have thought of little else. But there are other issues to consider when you enter the blogisphere, and I got a little spooked until I was able to sort it all out for myself. The main issue I had was about priv… Continue

My First Rotoscoping Project

Here is my very first rotoscope project. Rotoscoping is making a video look animated using Photoshop and Flash. My next one will look and work better, I learned much while doing this one. For instance, next time I will use less than 50% of the trace bitmap effect that makes the image look like a cartoon. I will have to experiment some more. Once I perfect the technique, I plan to try my hand at making a tutorial about it. Stay tuned.… Continue

Hi, Doug. Nice to have you as a PDX friend. Your rotoscoping looks great! I have two creative stepsons: one does music production/editing and the other is a Creative Director (and a great designer). Just one cat but she has been with us for fifteen years. We named her for a character in a contemporary play we saw in Asland at the time (LaBete). He name means "beast".

Many thanks! Very reassuring about the cost of housing--I'm a NYer and live in Boston so 450K won't go far in the places I know.
