Profile Information

Which Portland neighborhood do you call home? Or, are you Moving to Portland?
SW Portland / Tigard / Beaverton
About Me:
WHO IS R.J. ARCHER?
I'm an author, computer consultant and freelance writer who has called the Pacific Northwest home for more than 30 years. I've published numerous articles on PC-related topics in both print and electronic magazines. My interest in underwater archaeology led me to begin a blog about mysterious ancient maritime cultures in the Caribbean at www. TheMegaBlog.com. And my interest in diving led me to start a web portal for divers called BajaDivers.com. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree with dual majors in Physics and Mathematics and I'm a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Interests include computing, alternative history and scuba diving. When not writing, I can usually be found traveling Mexico and the Caribbean with my wife, Marty.
What do you love about Portland?
It's filled with creative talent of all types. Winters are USUALLY not too cold. It keeps a small city feel but has everything to offer. It's close to both the mountain and the beach, and just a three-hour drive from Seattle, from Bend and from Eugene.
My music:
Love jazz, blues and all types of Latin music, including some alternative rock.
What's your favorite Portland neighborhood and why?
close-in downtown, maybe MacAdam Av and John's Landing or the Waterfront

Thanks to whomever purchased the copy of TRIANGLE at Powells in Beaverton.

I'll keep an eye out and notify you when a new copy of any of my five adventure novels shows up in your neighborhood. Until then, you can still log on to your Powells account and order them: Seeds of Civilization novels —

Will you be coming to the Oregon Author Fair in Lincoln City August 25th? Look for me and all the Seeds of Civilization novels and Parallel Ops thrillers, too. Bob's Beach Books. I'm looking forward to this doubly since I've not been able to be part of this great event for the last three years. Hope to meet some of you there!

While on the run from international terrorists, a young couple stumbles upon a dark secret in the mountains of Mexico's Baja.

THE INFORMANTS is LIVE! and part of a set.
Read them one-by-one or in parallel.

I had the best cheesesteak sangwich the other day.If you haven't had one of these gustatory marvels, I suggest you consult your physician and then ignore his or her cautions and go get one. Your mouth will thank you, or would if it weren't so busy. My recommendation: Steaks Fifth Avenue at Pioneer Courthouse Square. Easily located, just follow the sound of collective “omnomnomz” forming a nimbus around the cart. While you're gnawing on the first of two (or is that just me?), take a look around.…See More
