- About Me:
- I am a real estate broker with Windermere http://www.rossseligman.com, a writer and contributor to PortlandNeighborhood.com, and a professional musician in our beloved Portland. I have two bands: Echo Helstrom http://www.echohelstrom.com, and the Echo Jazz Trio: http://www.echojazztrio.com.
- What do you love about Portland?
- It is big enough to be a city but small enough to be a community. Artists have venues to be artists and an audience who cares.
- My music:
- Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Neil Finn, his son Liam, Rufus Wainwright, Yael Naim, Massive Attack, K&D, Devotchka, Gogol Bordello, around 700 other bands including tons of locals like Blitzen Trapper. Jazz: Rollins, Monk, Davis, Grant Green, a million others. World: Oliver Mtukudzi, Habib Koite, Anoushka Shankar. I also love classical guitar: Julian Bream, Segovia, John Williams. The idea of listing all of the music I listen to is far too daunting. Easier to climb Everest.
- What's your favorite Portland neighborhood and why?
- Center: Portland's best kept secret. Soon PDX will feel its wrath when it invades Laurelhurst and Mt. Tabor creating an authoritarian regime.
