I see that you are a musician. I used to play violin (classical-type training but like to play by ear - blues and jazz). My family are all musicians - Dad is a jazz musician - plays with the Kung Pao Chickens on Monday nights at the Laurelthirst. If you want to hear some good Django-type jazz, I recommend hearing them.

Hi - do you live here permanently? Is this Blind Cafe a one time thing? Confused. I make jewelry with beads, mainly seed beads (off-loom weaving). Not sure how I can help you with the cafe except maybe spread the word. I work for an attorney who does employment law for employees, ie people who are discriminated against illegally or retaliated against for whistleblowing. I am sure that if you are involved with the blind that you have some experience with discrimination.

Hey, new near neighbor! How goes the Portland experience so far? We only live a few blocks apart. Get in touch and I can help out with some local networking and make a few introductions to some great folks on and near Hawthorne. I have several community projects going on so maybe we can do some brainstorming. Stop by Blue Butterfly Imports on the corner 41st and say hello. They have a great front porch for hanging out and I live just a shout away. Welcome to Asylum Avenue. I'm not on this forum much but just google Rainbojangles and can find me everywhere else.

HI Josh,

I rarely use this cummunity board, mostly on facebook and twitter, so thanks for the invite. Your event looks inspiring and I hope it does well. I am working on an Artful Giving Benefit for Providence Cancer Center July 24. Certainly is a good way to get to know the town.

Hawthrone is one off my favorite communities. I am over there heaps ... mostly at Newspace Center for Photography. They are great!
