Which Portland neighborhood do you call home? Or, are you Moving to Portland?
Molly Smithson is a comedian, writer and trivia host in the Portland area. Born in Portland, she recently moved back to the area from North Carolina. While she misses the sunshine, she'll gladly trade the red state's racism for her hometown's rain and fir trees any time. Come visit her at the Mandarin Palace on Mondays, Cheerful Bullpen on Wednesdays or at comedy shows around town.
What do you love about Portland?
Excellent public transportation, a friendly but unobtrusive community, great food, art and comedy scene, nearby hiking, the zoo and the city's rich architecture and overall history.
Everything from cheesy 70's folk to rap- other than new country, I like it all!
What's your favorite Portland neighborhood and why?
Laurelhurst was where I grew up as a kid and still charms me.
"In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.”
― Albert Camus
