Growing Gardens Chef in My Garden in Portland this Summer!

Hey, Portlanders! Are you enjoying the amazing warm weather this week?  I have been busy gardening, BBQing, and generally just being outside in the sunshine.  I wanted to tell you about a great local charity event that is happening in and around Portland this summer.  Growing Gardens is a great local charity that helps Portlanders grow their own food.  One of their most popular fundraising events is the "Chef in My Garden" dinners hosted in local Portland gardens by several of Portland's most…See More

Which Portland neighborhood do you call home? Or, are you Moving to Portland?
Eliot
About Me:
Just sharing my excitement about the great city that I live in. I am hoping to meet lots of like minded people and together all of us will create a fun and useful website.

Other things about me...
I work fulltime in IT...but not on websites
I love to dabble in websites on the side due to the creative aspect (I like to make things)
I always thought my style was contemporary/modern, but now I live in a wonderful old Portland house that was built in 1900 - cool!
I am creative by nature
I love to take photos
I love to read...and write
I love to cook (and eat!)
I am a painter in my spare time (oil painting as opposed to say, painting my house...which needs a re-painting but I can't afford it)
I also make jewelry
On rare occasions, I will break out my old sewing machine, too
I love dogs - they are role models for living in the moment!
I love to be outside enjoying our NW beauty
I love to eat at Portland restaurants
I love taking walks under the old trees of Irvington
I love riding my bike on the Eastbank Esplanade
I love people, but I am a natural introvert
What do you love about Portland?
Geez, what DON'T I love about Portland? I built an entire website just because I like Portland so much. This city is awesome. I would not want to live anyplace else.
My music:
so much music, so little time. My music is whatever Jonathan burned for me that week, and all of it is fantastic.
What's your favorite Portland neighborhood and why?
Ha! There are so many! I love NE PDX because of the diversity (and yeah, cause I live there)

Portland Blog: This Week in Portland March 8, 2014

Hey Portland!  I am en route back to Portland from Los Angeles today, where I spent the last couple of days visiting a friend.  Of course LA was great for the sunshine and warmer temps, but the contrast of LA to Portland also makes me happy to be returning home.  March is Portland Dining Month, for one thing, and I can't wait to eat at some of my favorite Portland restaurants.

Come read our…

Hi! Let me first say that I love the site, the community, and the blog. I've been subscribing to the blog since long before I actually made it to Portland, and I look forward to it every week!

But this ha really been bothering me--I came to Portland from Louisiana, where, as I'm sure you know, Mardi Gras is a big deal. That's why I cringe every time I see that "S" at the end of "Mardi" in a blog post. No S! Just a heads up.

Keep up the awesome work!

How can I get my business listed under your rental resources for apartments? I emailed you a couple of weeks back but have not received a response.

Thanks!

Holiday Ale Festival at Pioneer Courthouse Square

December 3, 2014 at 11am to December 7, 2014 at 5pm
While eggnog and hot toddies are commonly associated with the holidays, it’s no surprise that in the beer Mecca of the Pacific Northwest, craft ales are the drink of choice: specifically, big, bold ales designed to fend off the cold chill of a long winter night. The 19th annual Holiday Ale Festival gathers together 53 of these winter warmers for a joyous five-day celebration. The beers featured are rich, robust and full of complex flavors. From Belgians to barleywines, porters to winter…See More
