Which Portland neighborhood do you call home? Or, are you Moving to Portland?
ST. Johns
About Me:
We moved to ST. Johns soon after the vanport flood. Lived in Parkside homes for 5 years and then onto Portland. I also was owner of the ST. Johns Paint and Wallpaper on Lombard next door to the local news paper. As a painter/drywall person, I traveled the western part of the usa including Hawaii working. I now live in Payson, AZ. I have moved about 80 times. I am on my third marriage of 16+ yrs. A lady from St. Helens, Or.
What do you love about Portland?
Lived in Portland for so many years and got to love the down town city area.
My music:
I enjoy music but my favorite is Bluegress Gospel. I cannot listen to country music and it's whinny themes. Or most of the "New Age".
What's your favorite Portland neighborhood and why?
ST. Johns. I spent the best part of my young life there and after 5 years moved to S.E. Portland but still spent allot of time in St. Johns. I can still remember most I met there. I loved the theater and it's twin brothers that owned it and their twin sisters whom they married. I also knew Kenny wier and his bike shop and miss all the old shops.

Miss Portland

Now that we live in Indiana, I enjoy that being a member of this great site, I can keep in touch and visit the city I grew up in. Esp. The hawthorne distric. I lived at 35th SE Division st. Now a B&B. In the 40's I lived in St Johns. In the 70's, I had a paint/wallpaper store for a short time. I have lived all over the country including Hawaii but always returned to Portland. Now that I am 75, I wonder if I will be back. All my Children are around the Salem area.
