About Me:
A freewheeling, multi-media, boundary-bending movement troupe, BodyVox’s unique approach to theater assimilates all possibilities for movement; endows it with breathtaking physicality; enriches it with striking imagery and embellishes it with humor, wit and whimsy to create refined dancing that knows no boundaries.

With the opening of the BodyVox Dance Center in August 2009, BodyVox took the first steps to realizing a dream of Artistic Directors Jamey Hampton and Ashley Roland for a permanent home and a state of the art theater and center for dance in Northwest Portland.

Based in Portland, Oregon, BodyVox’s movement surges from a source informed by years of cross training imbued with a curiosity and fascination with the endless possibilities of the human body in motion. Artistic Directors Jamey Hampton and Ashley Roland are distinguished artists on the world stage, formed by their years working as creators and performers with innovative dance companies Momix, ISO Dance, and Pilobolus. BodyVox builds upon this tradition of excellence with a unique voice that is clearly influenced by its Northwest roots.
