Welcome to the Portland Neighborhood Group. If you have an interest in photography you should check out Northwest Center for Photography(NCP) and i witness gallery.
NCP workshops and classes cover everything related to image making—from the moment of exposure to the art of presentation and everything in between. Workshops and classes are designed for digital, film and video or B&W wet processing in our community darkroom.
NCP’s team of professional instructors—all passionate about photography—is committed to advancing the challenged and challenging the advanced. NCP believes having fun while learning is essential to the creative process and our goal is to provide a range of workshops suitable for the broadest audience—whether being taken for personal enrichment or if one is pursuing a career.
i witness gallery features work created by photographers from the Northwest exclusively. This includes work by seasoned and emerging professionals, as well as student work created during NCP workshops.
GALLERY HOURS are Tue-Fri, noon-6pm and Sat from 1-6pm. The gallery is open late for First Friday Gallery walks from 6-9 p.m.) Free admission.

Planetary Dance is open to everyone. In this ritual, people dedicate their dance to someone/thing in need of support. As all run, walk & pulse in concentric circles to the steady beat of the drum, everyone creates a moving mandala. Each step becomes a prayer for healing. JAW: A Playwrights Festival, hosted by Portland Center Stage at The Armory since 1999, has given playwrights a space and resources to develop their scripts. After being chosen from nearly 200 submissions, JAW playwrights are able to collaborate with theater professionals from across the country. The Portland Ballet offers a series of FREE PRE-Ballet classes. The commitment-free, four-class series introduces young dancers, ages 6-9, to the fundamentals of ballet and helps them decide if ballet is right for them.
