The photographer had driven all the way to the coast only to find that it had disappeared. Ever the optimist, he jumped back onto Highway 101 and drove to a local eatery where he ordered a soup and sandwich combo. What he got was grease on a spoon and a slice of mystery meat on a pound of bread. He suspected the shop owner was in cohorts with his doctor, so he refused the Coke and requested ice in the glass of water.
