Hi Patricia,
You've certainly come to a great Portland website for the best community information. Lorri, who runs this site is awesome.
It's a good thing you are looking ahead of time.
I'm going to suggest you also post this message on my website pdxdog.com, a social network for people who love dogs in Portland Metro.
I'm sure you've checked Craig's List Portland, it's a good one to keep watching, it changes all the time.
If you post on pdxdog I'll make sure your request gets noticed. In fact, it's a good idea on either network to 'blog' or start a discussion in the forum. That way it's easy for people to respond.
You might also check PortlandPooch.com, they may have a listing section.
Good Luck,
Andrea

Seeking recommendations for veterinarians in/around Lake Oswego. I have mostly geriatric dogs, so senior canine care is my primary concern.

My poor malamute is miserable in this weather, we have been doing to the river to cool off but the rest of the day we are stuck at my house with no AC!! Anyone know of a place where we can go to cool off?

Hi Fellow Animal People,

Writing from So Cali, which I hope to escape in about a year. Meanwhile absorbing the wonders of Portland digitally, and just checked out Dove Lewis and their 7-minute video (find on DL's site and YouTube). Impressive doesn't begin to describe it. I don't know of any operation in LA that compares in scope. Portland has so much to be proud of.

Yes, we did find him! He was gone for two weeks, but we found him and he is now safe and sound back at home. We also attracted a sweet stray by leaving food out for our missing cat. I've taken him to the vet and now he has a new home in my house! Meet Franklin.

Beca, I just now saw post about your lost cat. Did you find him, I hope?
Comment by Beca on July 4, 2008 at 1:25am
We've lost our cat! He escaped late at night July 1st from the corner of SE 16th and Pershing in the Brooklyn neighborhood. He is an indoor only cat and has never been outside in Oregon before so we're afraid he's wandered off and can't find his way back. He's very skittish, but very sweet. His most distinguishing feature is he is a polydactyl (six toes). If anyone sees this cat at all, even if you don't have him in your custody, please call me ASAP. 971 409 6635 Thanks!
