Will be moving to Portland in May, I just visted and did an interview earlier this week. It was a lovely, and think i will try and move to the affordable Kerns neighborhood because it is walkable, has grocery stores, shops, restaurants, park and recreation center/pool.
we have a 2 1/2 year old and look forward to all the outdoor activities I see in the area.
If not Kerns, i think the only affordable place ins Hillsboro/Beaverton for affordable apartments-and its on the Max Line.
i love NW 23rd area too, but affordable apartments arent to be found i dont think. I like the older apartment buildings btween NE Glisan and E Burnside area, but most dont have websites or hard to find on line. I had to collect numbers as i drove by their buildings.
in Kerns neighborhood, 28th and E Burnside is a small wholefoods; and a starbucks and numerous small restaurants. Esparza is the best mexican . Buckman recreation also has a community garden
