Hello there, I just added an event to the calendar.

Play after Play - The Gentle People. A story about peace.

My wife and I started Play after Play 5 years ago and have been presenting world folk tales and safe, engaging play since then.

Here is a link to our website: www.playafterplay.com

Thanks,
Marc Otto

Way to go Katie.

I've bookmarked the website since I often am looking for local resources.

A friend and I just started up a website that has all sorts of resources for families in Portland. the URL is www.pdxkids.org. We'd love for everyone to check it out and spread the word.

Also, if you know of any events or activities that we are missing please be sure to let me know and we'll post those, too!

I just posted the following event to the events calendar; please check the calendar for more details!

Washington County Museum Announces:
Halloween MaskMaking, Fall Fun at Free October Family Day
Mask Making Saturday, October 10th, 10am-2pm

Celebrate the season with our new Family Day program! Kids and parents will make their own mask for pre-Halloween fun! Choose a playful puppy, cute kitty, bouncing bunny to make and decorate, or something spooky like a jack-o-lantern.

Local artists from artists collective Print Arts Northwest will lead mask making, with WCM staff and volunteers hosting historic autumnal activities. Kids can try on pioneer clothing, play with a variety of traditional toys, or learn to sew with pumpkin-shaped sewing cards. Cookies and juice will be plentiful courtesy of Beaverton Bakery. Learn More.

Our warmest thanks to Family Day sponsor the PGE Foundation.

Hey Folks,

I am new to the group out and about in Portland. I have a Baby Boot Camp class going on 3 days per week at Sellwood Park if interested you can check out my page or email sharon.zemp@babybootcamp.com
BBC is a group of Moms who workout in the park with their kiddos in strollers, We have a great time while socializing and getting a workout.
Starting Saturdays mid Sept I am starting a Family Class to get Dads/Sig others out there. We like to work hard and have fun. We do monthly Moms night out, Dad's Poker night at our house and would like to expand our group to meet other parents out there.

There are some great kids martial arts programs at the Tulen Center in South West portland and One WIth Heart on SE. Links are below if you are interested. My suggestion if you are looking into a martial art for you child (or yourself!) is to find someplace they have fun and where you appreciate the material and how it is taught. Take advantage of free trails and see what wonderful opportunities there are!

Many thanks! Very reassuring about the cost of housing--I'm a NYer and live in Boston so 450K won't go far in the places I know.
