Welcome to YOUR Portland Neighborhood Community

Are there houses, apartments? We're moving down from Washington soon and are beginning to look. We'd like something for less than $900/month. We have a 4-legged canine son who will be moving with us as well. Anyone able to give me some advice? I was in the neighborhood yesterday for a meeting and fell in love.

What is a good way to find out about rentals in the neighborthood, please?

900 a month?....maybe 2 or 3 years ago.
you might can find a basement apt for 600 - 900
but for that price you may have to consider sharing a house with others
the median /low end is $1200

believe it or not craigslist is gonna give you the best deals and an idea of how much your gonna pay in rent in the different areas.

My wife and I are moving near 33rd and alberta in august and will be looking for housemates..dog friendly of course! we will be renting half the house - the entire upstairs 3 rooms for $600 or 300 a room..this price came from months of research of the "going rate"

good luck ..welcome to the COOLEST city in the worlld!
I am considering a move to the Alberta area also. My question: are houses priced in the $175-$200k range livable? I am able to do cometic fixing, painting, floor resurfacing, etc. Please anyone chime in with comments...
THere is 1/2 of a duplex on 14th about 1 block south of Prescott it looks really nice they are asking 1200 a month, I know that is a bit more than your budget, and good luck
