Welcome to YOUR Portland Neighborhood Community

Hi:  My husband and I are relocating to Portland in February.  We are looking for a neighborhood near public transportation.  I will be working in downtown Portland (2nd and Market) and will not have a car.  We are in our mid-50s so want a neighborhood with friendly people in our age group.  We love live music and walking to restaurants and shops, as well as a funky, fun vibe.  Safety, of course, is a concern.  We will be renting until we decide where we want to settle.  Any recommendations are welcome.  Thanks

There are many neighborhoods on public transportation, check TriMet.org to see maps.

Also, live music, restaurants and shops abound!  Check close in neighborhoods like SellwoodGoose Hollow, NW Nob Hill/Alphabet District.

You might also enjoy SE Hawthorne and Belmont, and there are few neighborhoods and funky and fun as Alberta Arts District.  Good luck and welcome to Portland.

Thanks Lorri.  I will definitely check these out!  Maria
