Portland neighborhoods..

Hmmmm....tell us more about you. What are you looking for in a neighborhood? Mass transit, self-sustaining, kid friendly, uber-urban?

Well we live in Beaverton now, its a bit too subburbia for us. We like the feel of downtown, walking to the local stores/bars/coffee shops, so a nice, safe neighborhood. My biggest thing is being near school, no kids, transit's a plus but not a must..

If you want less bubs, I would look closely at the neighborhoods around the Cascade campus. Piedmont, Arbor Lodge, Humboldt, Kenton, Boise/Eliot, etc are fairly close and cute neighborhoods that feel more urban that Beaverton. Check each neighborhood on this page: http://www.portlandneighborhood.com/portland-neighborhoods.html

Look at the North and NE Portland neighborhoods. Let us know what else might help narrow it down.
