Welcome to YOUR Portland Neighborhood Community

Hey, my family and I are moving back to Oregon after being in Phoenix for the last 2 years. We are from Central Oregon. But husband is getting a job in portland so off we go. We are both 26 years old with 2 boys and 2 dogs. One of our sons is in school. My husband will be working downtown so we need to find a house where he could get to work fairly easy and fast. Dont want to be stuck in a traffic jam all morning. We are looking for a single family house with at least one garage. 3 bed, with a fenced back yard by good schools. We are really calm and want a great neighborhood for our family. Our budget would probably be 1200 max. If anyone could help us find something or tell me a good neighborhood to look. Ive been looking in cedar hills just not sure.

I would probably avoid West of Portland (Beaverton) because that tends to be the worst commute (still in Portland the commutes aren't as bad as other larger cities).  I did that commute for 5 years and it got old quick!  I think if you look at SE neighborhoods, NE neighborhoods, and North Portland you will find the commute easier to Downtown.  If you want to rent a house, check http://www.housingmaps.com/

It allows you to set a filter by price range and dogs. :-)

I think you might really enjoy SE Portland neighborhoods. Belmont, Buckman, Kerns, Sunnyside, NE Neighborhoods Boise Eliot, Alamdea, Irvington, Hollywood, North Portland Arbor Lodge, St. Johns, Kenton or Piedmont.  http://www.portlandneighborhood.com/portland-neighborhoods.html

Good luck!

January 5, 2015 from 9am to 11am
See the 100th positive message go up in Portland on 1/5/15 It’s commonly said that the way you change the world is one person at a time.  Or, if you're a Portlander and local positive thought organization, The Joy Team, you do it one positive message at a time.  The Joy Team launched an outdoor ad campaign for happiness in April 2010 and has been putting up inspiring and optimistic messages ever since. On January 5th at 9:00 AM, the 100th positive message goes up on a billboard in Portland,…See More
