Welcome to YOUR Portland Neighborhood Community

Hello all,

I'm moving to Portland in August and have been looking all over the internet for homes to rent. I've looked on craigslist, facebook, and all sorts of rental websites. Does anyone have suggestions of where I should look? I'm pretty much looking for a home because I will be moving out with my friend and her black lab. Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated. :)

Thanks,

Kali

Thanks Trina! I've been desperately looking at craigslist everyday. I'm making a trip out the second week of July to see if I can land anything before heading out. :)
I agree -- Craigslist is definitely the best resource. Good luck!! I am sure it will work out just nicely. Let us know when you get here and where you end up!
My husband and I moved up here in January from Las Vegas. We check craigslist a couple of times a day. There's new postings everyday. Right when we thought we found the perfect home the next we check on it it would be rented out already. But eventually found a great new townhouse in St. John's. So far the neighbor is great despite some of the bad reviews I read online. It's a small town in a big city! Plus, on our walks I see tons of homes that are for rent. Good luck!
I've lived in Portland for almost 15 years. It's a wonderful town and now is a great time to get here and find something. We have several different areas you'll want to check out. Some like the east side, Hawthorne, Hollywood and westmorland. And there's lots, lots more of great neighborhoods. But there's also the west side, there are the west hills and Northwest Portland and the newer neighborhoods in Beaverton. So much to choose. When you get here you should check out some of the areas and then focus your renting by the area. There is a lot of houses right now that are available. Have fun. You are so lucky to be coming to Portland
Portland is a great place to live. My husband and I have lived for the past 10 years.

Unfortunately, we are moving to NY in mid-August and will need to rent our house. If you are interested in renting a place in a SE close-in neighborhood, please feel free to contact me when you arrive in mid-July.

Have a nice trip.
I am moving to Portland in the summer too. I need a house to rent. I am originally from NY, but currently live in SC. Do you accept pets? I might be interested! Any photos and maps?
Portland is a dog friendly town, so there should be lots of pet friendly rentals, even in the city. Also check this link
http://www.oregonhumane.org/services/pet_friendly_rentals.asp. Do you already have jobs lined up? If so, let me know which area and I can suggest a few neighborhoods. Welcome to Portland!
This is such a great website! Thanks Lorri!
We are renting our house in Portland! It is an amazing house and fully furnished! We also have a huge backyard for your dog! He would be so happy playing in it! Please take a look at this link: :http://www.rentals.com/Oregon/Portland/r1246944/. We are open to short term and long term options. Welcome to Portland, you won't regret it! You can also contact Heather Fritsch, she is a member in this website, she just relocated from Texas, is currently renting our house. She rented it for the summer, in order to look for something to buy and her contract ends in August! Let me know if you are interested! Take care, Glaucia
I hope this is not too late!
