Hi. I currently live in Chicago and am seriously considering moving to Portland. I have been told Laurelhurst is a good neighborhood. Have I gotten the right scoop? Thanks

Yes, definitely is from my opinion but what defines good for you? Easy access to mass transit, bikeable, safe, etc?? Are you looking to buy or rent? This is an expensive area to buy in to be sure.

Laurelhurst is a 'cant miss' neighborhood! anything on the "close in" east side is worth a look, but Laurelhurst is VERY nice. one of the few truly High-End east side neighborhood.

Laurelhurst is a great neighborhood. You should also check out Colonial Heights – it’s a less expensive alternative, yet has access to the same amenities as Laurelhurst does.
