All aboard the Mt. Hood Railway for the Polar Express! This fun family event is a magical holiday tradition.

What are the Departure Times?

11:30am | 2:00pm | 4:30pm | 7:00pm

What happens on this train?

Passengers are invited to wear their pajamas on the train. Passenger cars are decorated for the holidays. The Conductor will punch each passengers train ticket.

En route to the North Pole:
The book, The Polar Express will be read. Music from The Polar Express movie will be played. Passengers are served hot chocolate and cookies by chefs.

At the North Pole, and the return portion of the train tour:
Santa Claus and elves await the passengers at the North Pole (passengers just watch but do not leave train at this portion of the trip). Santa Claus and elves then board the train. Elves will be in each train car and will entertain passengers and lead them in singing Christmas carols. Santa Claus moves through each train car, will greet each child, giving them their own personal silver bell.

 What is at the Event Site?

  • A Gift Store.
  • Any unsold tickets that may be available, can be purchased at the ticket counter the date of the event (only), beginning at 8:00am each day.

Is there parking?

For your convenience there are approximately 250 parking spaces available at the depot and nearby surrounding lots on a first come, first serve basis. Our parking fees are as follows: $5 for Autos, $6 for RVs and $7 for Buses. There are a limited number of parking spaces for the disabled as well.

How much do tickets cost?

>Regular coach seating

Passenger coaches
Adults = $26
Children (2-12 years) = $18
Paired seating on both sides of the aisle, families can sit across from each other to share the excitement together.
