Welcome to one of the most exciting weeks in Oregon's performing arts community! JAW is Portland Center Stage’s annual festival for new work for the stage. Among over 200 national submissions of seasoned and up-and-coming playwrights, four exciting scripts have been selected. Each play will receive two weeks of rehearsals with professional actors and staff. As the weeks reach its final days, the building opens wide with the Big Weekend, inviting hundreds of audience members to become part of the creation by joining in for staged readings of the new scripts and a slew of performances from other Portland theaters and arts ensembles.
Best part? It's all FREE. No reservations required. For a full listing of events, including play descriptions, visit www.pcs.org/jaw

Sofie is an unhappy housewife, Gregor is her bread-winning husband, Dr. Franz is their psychiatrist ... and Wink is the cat. Violent desires, domestic terrorism and feline vengeance at any cost make Wink a dark comedy about the thin, thin line between savagery and civilization.
