Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum will discuss her involvement with other Attorneys General in confronting the most egregious policies of the Trump administration.
Attorney General Rosenblum has joined in a lawsuit against the Trump administration aimed at preventing the elimination of the DACA program and in suing Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos for her roll back of regulations that keep for profit universities from defrauding students. Additionally, she has warned Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke that lifting the protection on the Cascade-Siskiyou Monument would result in a lawsuit by Oregon. On the horizon lay the threats from US Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, to crack down on Oregon’s legal marijuana sales and Trump’s Voter Fraud Commission.
As a former federal prosecutor, and state trial and appellate judge, Ellen Rosenblum has been our Attorney General since June of 2012. She is the first woman to serve as Oregon Attorney
General. Her priorities include consumer protection and civil rights: Advocating for and protecting Oregon's children, seniors, immigrants, crime victims and those saddled with education-related debt.
Attorney General Rosenblum has served on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Attorneys General and she is the immediate past Chair of the Conference of Western Attorneys General.
Light refreshments will be served.
