Artist co-operative Artistic Portland will celebrate the Year of The Rooster on Thursday, February 2, 2017 between 4-6 pm. Lore says that roosters are a social and talkative lot so many of the Co-op’s participating artists will be welcoming patrons to visit and answer any questions they might have about their art. Refreshments will be provided to brush off the chill of winter.
Bull Run Distilling will be a returning vendor of adult beverages which include small-batch crafted vodka, whiskey and rum spirits. They will provide options for tastings and purchase.
In addition to finished art, the Co-op offers art classes including Crayon Meditation by Ben Gilbert every Friday 4-6 pm, and the following taught by Michaela Houston: Make A Rose for Your Valentine Workshop, February 4th, 10-11:30 am. and Valentine’s Card Workshop, 12-1 pm; Product Photography, March 4, 10-2 pm; and Paper Art Collage Workshop, March 5, 10-2 pm.
The 50-member artists’ co-operative expanded to its current 2700 sq. ft. location at 318 SW Taylor Street in Downtown Portland on June 1, 2015.
